Never. Your code encodes your URL directly — there's no redirect service in the middle that could shut down or start charging. The PNG you download will work as long as your URL does.
Yes. Codes are generated entirely in your browser by JavaScript on your own device. The URLs you enter are never uploaded, stored, or logged.
Use 1024×1024 for flyers and cards, and 2048×2048 for posters or anything scanned from farther away. A good rule of thumb: the printed code should be about one-tenth as wide as the distance it's scanned from.
Scanners need strong contrast, and most expect a dark pattern on a light background. If you've inverted that or picked two similar tones, flip to a darker code color on a lighter background — the generator warns you when a combination is risky.
